Brenda Robles, former Peer Advisor, was named "Young Alumni Association Outstanding Senior" at the humanities convocation at graduation.
Kathryn Lindquist, current member of the LEAP Community Board, was honored as a "distinguished alumna" of the College of Humanities.
Congratulations to Nicole Nguyen, graduating Health Sciences LEAP student, on being named the Utah Young Humanitarian of the Year for 2008. With the award comes a $5000 scholarship for graduate school, where Nicole will study pharmacy.

Of the 24 students inducted this spring into the prestigious Beehive Honor Society, more than one fifth had connections with LEAP as students or Peer Advisors. LEAP congratulates Natasha Aguayo, Danielle Kauerz, Nicole Nguyen, Giang Tran, and Elyse Woodbury. Another LEAP alum, Brent Schmidt, won a Beehive Scholarship.
Congratulations also go to Health Sciences LEAP student Tuyet Nguyen who was just awarded a Kennecott Scholarship.
In other LEAP news, Katie Valentine has been named ALLY Supervisor for next year, Jake Zimmerli will be our new Senior Peer Advisor, and Emily Paxton, Rachel Turner, and Trevor Wright have all been hired to assist LEAP with summer orientation and new student registration. Welcome aboard to all.
LEAP congratulates the three winners of Peer Advisor Scholarships for next year – Jessica Behl, Suzanne Schmidt, and Carla Suarez – and congratulates Suzanne again for winning the Frost Award for the year’s Outstanding Peer Advisor.
The ASUU Government Relations Director, Marko Mijic, who is a former LEAP student and Peer advisor, led a successful student effort to obtain state-wide tax-exemption on textbooks for institutions of higher education. Congratulations Marko!

LEAP student Anne Bruckner recently qualified for the American Junior World Speed Skating Team, and will be travelling to China and Japan to compete.
