Scholarship and Leadership Opportunities

Scholarship Opportunities:

LEAP students and LEAP Peer Advisors are eligible for the following scholarships and awards:

Five $2000 Freshman LEAP Scholarships to students completing their first year, to be applied to their second academic year.

One $1000 Multi-Year LEAP Scholarship to LEAP students in one of the three multi-year LEAP Program -- Health Sciences, Pre-Law, or E- LEAP Plus – who plan to continue in that program.

Three $2000 LEAP Peer Advisor Scholarships to current Peer Advisors.

One $750 Engineering LEAP Gift for Fall Semester 2008 books/supplies to E-LEAP students in their first year of Engineering at the University of Utah.

One $500 Jan Frost LEAP Peer Advisor Recognition Award to the year’s Outstanding Peer Advisor.

Leadership Opportunities:

LEAP Peer Advisor for the 2008-09 Academic Year

Students who complete the LEAP Seminar (first year) are eligible to apply for the position of LEAP Peer Advisor. As a Peer Advisor, you will be assigned to one freshman seminar and will work with that class for both semesters. You must have been enrolled in LEAP for a full academic year to qualify for this position. Hours: 10 hours per week. Salary: $1050 per semester.

LEAP Peer Advisor applications will be available (from LEAP faculty and Leo Leckie's office) on March 1, 2008.
